Battle Creek District Recap!
Stryke Force Wins again! We earned our second blue banner of the season by shoveling into the Week 4 Battle Creek District Event! Thank you to all of our amazing sponsors for making this possible, and read more to learn how we uncovered this competition.
Stryke Force competed at the Battle Creek District Event this past weekend at Battle Creek Central High School. Thank you to all of the volunteers who made this event possible!

We started off Saturday strong, winning our first four qualification matches. In our 3rd qualification match, we were partnered with 6002 ZooBOTix and 6588 Counter-Torque Robotics, and ended up tying for the highest score in the state at the time, with a score of 595! However, we ended up facing 6002 two matches later, and with them proving to be a tough matchup, we lost our fifth qualification and ended the day ranking 2nd out of 39 teams.

Now going into day 2 of competition, we knew we needed to score as many ranking points in matches as we could, to try to sneak out on top. This is because there was a close race between three teams for the top position: 4237 Team Lance-A-Bot, who was currently ranked first going into day 2, 6002 ZooBOTix, and finally, us. Going into some of our final qualification matches, we ended up winning them all, although came short in earning enough ranking points to surpass the first place position.
Now, going into alliance selections, Stryke Force was ranked 2nd. Then the number one seed of the competition, 4237 Lance-A-Bot asked us to join their Alliance, and we graciously accepted the offer that was extended to us. Then, we rounded out our alliance with Team 5538 Vikingbots. Later, our alliance turned into a four player team when we had Team 11511 step in as an alternate for one of our partners.

We flew through the elimination bracket, without dropping a single match to get our alliance into the finals. There we faced 6002 ZooBOTix, 5675 WiredCats, and 9677 Gator Gears.
However, we were able to pull out the win in two straight matches, earning us the Battle Creek District win and another blue banner to add to the collection.
Winning the event wasn’t the only award we walked away with. We were also awarded the Quality Award, which demonstrates the team who displays machine robustness in concept and fabrication. Way to go team!

Aside from the robot aspect of the competition, we also got to recognize two of our students that we nominated for the FIRST Leadership Award. This award recognizes the dedication and individual contributions of outstanding secondary school students and for excelling in areas such as leadership, entrepreneurship, and dedication to advancing the mission of FIRST within their communities. We nominated Aiden V. and Henry H. to represent their hard work and dedication to our team and FIRST values alike. We are proud to recognize them as FIRST Leadership Award Semi-finalists.
Thank you again sponsors for all that you do to support us as a program! We couldn’t build that robot and compete successfully without your support!
