West Michigan District Event Recap!
Let’s take a plunge into Stryke Force’s performance this past weekend at their second district competition!

Stryke Force had the pleasure of competing at the West Michigan District Event at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan this past weekend. After competing in our qualification matches, our team was ranked 1st out of 40 teams, with a record of 11-1-0. We were captains of Alliance 1 because of our successful performance in the qualification matches. Stryke Force asked Team 862, Lighting Robotics to join our alliance, and we rounded it out with Team 8397, Astrobots. During elimination matches, Alliance 1 sailed through the top portion of the bracket, not dropping a single match. We didn’t stop our winning streak there, during our finals matches we also ended up winning two in a row, earning us another blue banner!

In addition to being awarded the District Event Winner, Stryke Force was also awarded the Autonomous Award. For those unfamiliar with the phases of a match, the "autonomous period" is the first fifteen seconds where the robot moves completely on its own through pre-programmed coding. This award was presented to our team because we demonstrated a consistent, reliable, and high-performing autonomous program.
Also, Stryke Force also was given an opportunity to show off our robot in a “Behind the Bumpers” video! Some of the people from the FUN Robotics Network came to our competition and we were so grateful for the opportunity to explain and show off our robot for their YouTube channel.
Here's the video, so go check it out!
