Senior Spotlight - Episode 3
Let's get to know the next three seniors in the "Senior Spotlight" series!
Isabel S.
Audrey P.
Riley N. has been on the team for six years and is on the build sub-team. She has participated in other Stryke Force programs in the past including FTC, VEX, and now FRC. Rapid React, from 2022, is Riley's favorite game, and her favorite memory was when the team won their field at states that same season. The opportunity to build cool things and the team’s good sense of humor are her favorite aspects about Stryke Force. One life lesson she has learned during her time on the team is how to work with many different kinds of people and how to make a successful team. Riley’s future plans include attending Michigan State University and majoring in mechanical engineering with a concentration in aerospace. We are so grateful for her contribution on the team, and we cannot wait to see her flourish and grow up.
Noah B. has been on Stryke Force for two years, and his role is being a programmer. Since he joined the team, he has been on the programming team and he has learned various technical skills and gained confidence for his future aspirations. The 2023 season Charged Up was Noah’s favorite game. The start was tough at first but the mentors helped to guide him through the season and he has learned and grown so much since then. Going to the 2023 World Championship, meeting teams from different countries, and trading a shirt with a team from Mexico were his favorite memories while being on the team. Noah’s favorite aspect about Stryke Force is how the program prepares us for the real world by giving us real-world experiences. One life lesson he’s learned is to fail early. Once you know that your path is a dead end, you should switch trajectory early and not at the last minute. Failure is only negative if you don't act on it. Noah’s future plan is to study electrical or computer engineering after high school. We are so thankful for his contribution to the team, and we cannot wait to see where his future takes him.
Brad H. has been a part of Stryke Force since the summer of 2022. One of his friends invited him onto the team because he was unsure of what he wanted to do in the future. After helping out the build team he found that he enjoyed mechanical engineering and will be attending Michigan Technology University in the fall. Brad’s favorite memory on the team was winning our first event because it showed him what all the work we do will accomplish. It taught him that “mistakes are very easy to make but harder to make as a group.” His future plans include going to Michigan Technological University this fall to study mechanical engineering. We’re very happy that he was able to be a part of our team, and we’re thrilled to see how his future goes.
