Senior Spotlight - Episode 2
Let's get to know the next three seniors in the "Senior Spotlight" series!
Isabel S.
Natalia G.
Lauren P.
Alec has been on the team for six years and is the build team student leader. He was involved with game design his freshman year and created the field data crew (previously known as the media team) his sophomore year. During his junior year, he was a part of the pit crew and participated in CAD. Currently, as a senior, Alec is the student leader of the build team. His favorite season was Rapid React in 2022. Working on Stryke Force’s alliance partner’s robot at St. Joe in 2023 was his favorite memory on the team. Alec’s favorite part of being on Stryke Force is the fast paced problem solving in the pits because he says it’s fun to be under pressure but still be confident in himself and the team. An important life lesson he’s learned is time-management so projects and tasks are done on time. Alec plans to study mechanical engineering at Saginaw Valley State University. We’re very happy that he was able to be a part of our team for so long, and we’re excited to see how his future goes.
Kenny S. has been an engaged member of Stryke Force for three years. He joined the team in 2022 when his friend, Alec, convinced him to join. Kenny quickly fell in love with robotics and, now as a senior, he is the programming student leader and technician. His favorite aspect of his sub-team is their desire to push the bounds and build their own systems instead of using off-the-shelf materials. Kenny’s favorite memory of Stryke Force was the 2023 World Competition because it was an awesome week in general and he enjoyed seeing the robot operate at its peak performance. This year’s game is his favorite game yet. Kenny will use the life lessons he’s learned in Stryke Force in his future at Michigan State University while earning his electrical engineering degree.
Veer has been on the team for six years and he is the operator on the drive team. Initially, he started as a scouter and human player then transitioned to the operator role, which he has been in for the past three years. His favorite game was Charged Up because he liked the complexity of operating in it. Operating at the world championship last year was Veer’s favorite memory during his time on Stryke Force. An aspect of the drive team that he enjoys is that they are in control of the robot. A life lesson he has learned while being on the team is that "teamwork makes the dream work." Veer’s plans include studying chemistry in college and pursuing a master's degree afterward. We are so grateful for his contribution to Stryke Force, and we can’t wait to see where his future endeavors will take him.
